Tenmat 2-Hour UL Fire Rated Light Cover – Advanced Fixture Fire Protection

The FF109X fire-rated light cover is a two-hour UL tested and approved fire barrier designed to maintain the fire resistance of ceilings when penetrated by recessed lighting or speaker installations. It is intended to help prevent the spread of flames through ceiling openings, supporting compliance with fire-resistance requirements outlined in building codes such as the International Building Code.

Approved for use across a wide range of ceiling assemblies—including gypsum, sheetrock, drywall, acoustical tiles, and suspended ceilings—the FF109X is compatible with joist spacing up to 24 inches on center and suitable for 2" x 10", 2" x 12", 2" x 14", and 2" x 16" configurations. Constructed from intumescent material, the enclosure expands when exposed to heat, helping restrict flame spread and heat transmission for up to two hours.

The cover is UL approved for use with IC-rated recessed incandescent, fluorescent, and LED fixtures, and is compatible with many manufacturers’ models for both new construction and retrofit applications. In addition to fire protection, it provides thermal and acoustical insulation. Its lightweight and flexible construction supports quick installation while reducing stress on ceiling structures compared to traditional drywalled enclosures.
